People's Manifesto brought on Tobacco Control

With different political parties releasing their Manifesto before the upcoming 2014 Parliamentary Elections, Tamilnadu People’s Forum for Tobacco Control (TNPFTC) has brought out its “People’s Manifesto on Tobacco Control”.

The People’s Manifesto aims to sensitize the Candidates standing for the elections on the ill effects of tobacco, violations by tobacco industries and the tobacco control activities. It seeks to explain to the Candidates what People’s are expecting from the Government in line with Tobacco Control activities.

The Manifesto speaks about Second Hand Smoking, Tobacco Tooth Paste, Tobacco Cessation, Point of Sale, School Health Programme, Restrictions related to Tobacco Control, Tobacco Farming, Child Labour System, NGOs in Tobacco Control and the New Companies Act, 2013.

The People’s Manifesto will be circulated to the Candidates in Tamil Nadu through the Members and District Conveners of TNPFTC.TNPFTC is a network of individuals, professional associations, and institutions who are actively working towards tobacco control.
