Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Arunachal Pradesh, the Land of Rising Sun and will flag off two trains from there – one connecting the state with the national capital while another with Gawahati in Assam.

According to an official statement its been said that the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Harmuti-Naharlagun rail line, and will flag off the AC express between Naharlagun and New Delhi, and an inter-city express between Naharlagun and Guwahati. He will also inaugurate a water supply for Itanagar, and will also lay the foundation stone for a 132 KV transmission line.

Arunachal Pradesh have entered the Indian Railway map in April last year, but running a train from there has been a major problem due to threats by some groups. The first train which was run from Arunachal Pradesh to Assam, i.e. between Naharlagun and Dekargaon was called off within exactly 31 days of its introduction.

The main reason of PM Modi's visit to Itanagar is to attend the 29th statehood day of Arunachal Pradesh. Modi will be the first PM to attend this function. He also greeted the people of Arunachal Pradesh on the statehood day in Twitter.

Modi will also visit Jharkhand later in the day to inaugurate a new railway line in the state.
