Addressing the inaugural session on September 13 of two-day national conference regulatory mechanisms in higher education, Rajasthan CM, Vasundhara Raje said that the state government will set up a Skill Development University during 2014-15 academic session as a public-private partnership venture.
In the conference at the University of Rajasthan that was organized by Akhil Bhartiya Rashrtiya Shaikshik Mahasangh, Raje said that there was also a need to set up specialized education centers for tourism, food and nutrition, landscaping, foreign languages, etc., to promote self-employment among the youth.
Raje batted for better brand value of private universities to attract the best students from the state and the nationwide. She also told the audience that an advisory board of educationists will be set up for improving the standard of education in the state.
A two-day national seminar closed in the preence of Rajasthan's minister of education, Kali charan Saraf on September 14 with the recommendations on issues and challenges in higher education in the country. A consensus is being built in the conference to recommend to the union government to set up a single autonomous and independent regulatory commission consisting of educationists at national and state levels to regulate and control the higher education system.
