Residential complex gets step-motherly treatment
TR. Madhavan | 29 Jul 2014

A decade old nine blocks residential complex one near pillar no. 185 PVNR Expressway, Upparpally, Rajendranagar Mandal, Ranga Reddy dist, Telangana state, en route to the Shamshabad Airport, is a classic case of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation indifference.

Even after several complaints to the elected representatives no action has been initiated on various issues which plague the residents. Due to the trend of voting in individual polling station areas got divulged, the electors are subjected to harassment or victimization. In this constituency except this small area locality, several other areas where the real developmental works have taken place due to voting pattern knowledge by the winning candidate as well as the government of the day.

After the formation of the State of Telangana, the resident associations presented their case to the Hon'ble Chief Minister, Hon'ble Mayor of Hyderabad and local constituency Rajendranagar M L A., about a month back to resolve the grievances lodged online to the Municipal authorities related to Sewerage, Storm Water Drains & Roads, to instruct the GHMC Circle 6 officials to undertake the works on war footing basis, as the sewerage waste or storm water are getting stagnated near the place of worship Masjid-E-Elahi below a block in the low lying area and frequent overflow of the waste is causing hardship and health hazards to 700 odd families living in the area.

Their grievance details and the official's replies were;

a)    Gr. No. 2014-02-W066686, 2/2/2014 – EE informs on 14/2/2014 – Estimate to be submitted after site inspection.

b)    Gr. No. 2014-05-W085414 – 21/5/2014 – AE informs on 31/5/2014 – Replaced the damaged line and laid new line.

c)     Gr. No. 2014-06-W087187, 2/6/2014, AE informs on 9/6/2014 – JNNURM works is in progress.

Gr. No. 2014-02-W066955, 5/2/2014. DC informs on 15/2/2014 – Due to laying of the UGD lines by HMWS&SB is in progress.

Gr. No. 2014-05-W084914, 18/5/2014. AE informs on 25/5/2014 – Roads will be laid after completion of HMWS&SB works.

All the grievances related works are to be undertaken from main road, opposite to Pillar No. 185 PVNR Expressway to inside residential complex road. HMWS&SB works are under progress on the main inner ring road. The street lights have been not repaired on the road leading our housing complex between entrance on the main road to the play ground inside.

Road Transport Facility - Since a decade buses used to halt at near pillar no 185 PVNR Expressway. When PVNR Expressway construction started bus shelters in the inner ring road were removed and none have been reconstructed till this date. Since a year and half the bus does halt here. Because of which commuters living in housing colonies and apartments in and around 9 blocks housing complex bus stop especially school going children, senior citizens, women, office goers are forced to walk up to the bus stop siutated at upparpally cross roads.The RTC buses of all route and services plying via this bus stop should be made to halt. Request Stop board and Bus Shelter should be constructed in both the sides of the road.

The RTC should extend the bus service 94 U – Upparpally to Koti to Upparpally Cross Roads and divert bus route 94/70 Dairy Farm to Charminar, 92 S Rajendranagar to Sanatnagar and 92 E Rajendranagar to Jeedimetla via pillar no 185 bus stop.

It is surprising that, there is no communication from any end whether any instructions were sent and the grievance is yet to be attended. Festival season along with it rainy season too has started the residents are put to lot of hardship, health hazards and trauma.

The residents say that, when the officials fail in addressing the grievances, the elected representatives should intervene in such case of discrimination. Will it happen and the resident grievance resolved?
