Rich tributes paid to Lal Bahadur Shastri

J and K Freedom Fighters Association remembered former Prime Minister, Lal Bahadur Shastri, who sacrificed his life in the freedom struggle of India, at a function organised here at Shri Mahavir Higher Secondary School, Rani Park, Jammu, on Thursday. The function was organised under chairmanship of the President Freedom Fighters Association, Ved Gandotra. On the occasion, SP Vigilance, Poswal was the Chief Guest whereas Sukhminder Singh Maini and Deepak Sharma were the Guests of Honour. The speakers stressed on the need for including the life history of the martyrs and the freedom fighters in the syllabus of the school going children so that the next generation may also be prepared with the notion of sacrifice for others. They said that the martyrs and freedom fighters should not be forgotten and the nation should always remember them and their deeds. They exhorted upon the youth to learn from the sacrifices made by the martyrs and come forward to give an honest and working leadership to the country to fulfill the dreams of the freedom fighters. They asserted that everybody should work for the solidarity of the country for eradicating the corruption, poverty and illiteracy from the country. Sweets were also distributed among the students. Among those who were presented on the occasion include Prof Inder Singh Sodhi, Mohini In-charge High School; Nirmal Sharma, Ashu Sharma, G.S Charak, Gajan Singh, Charanjit Singh, Harinder Singh, Ashok Bhasin, Mohammad Sharief, K.K Rao, Hardeep Singh, Ranbir Manhas, B.L Gupta, Jagjit Singh, T.S Premee and Rajiv Mahajan, State President, Shri Ram Sena.
