Anjaana Anjaani review. The film released in 2010. the film did'nt worked well at the box office.
Love story between strangers was the tag line of Anjaana Anjaani but I guess all people are strangers before their first meet.
Anjaana Anjaani – the three hours movie is all about two disheartened and forlorn people who tried to fulfill their wishes in 20days afore finally committing suicide.
The movie’s backdrop is the financial crisis that hit the United States in 2008. Akash (Ranbir Kapoor) plays a stock trader who like everybody felt the tremors of bankruptcy. And after a series of disappointment, he decides to end his life and lands up on a bridge where he meet’s coincidentally, drunken Kiara (Priyanka Chopra) who already present there to commit suicide.
And finally, after many failed attempts they decide to end their lives on the New Year’s Eve, just 20 days away. The whole film revolves around in these 20 days where Akash and Kiara set out on a journey to fulfill their wishes they never done afore before death. Initially, they both took time to understand each other and when the time came to confess their feeling of their mutual love sprung in 20 days, they depart. And dramatically, they meet where they start on the same bridge.
Anjaana Anjaani was no different from the usual bollywood movie story wise but it was different in locations, costumes, urban written dialogues, and new flavour of songs. Siddharth Anand, the director need to work more on emphasizing the charaters and dialogues. Music steals the whole show. The Vishal-Shekhar duo renders some heart felt songs.
As far as performances are concerned, both Kapoor and Chopra delivered a standard performance. The chemistry they shared was the element of surprise.
