Samya Dosa: The delicious South Indian dish

Samya Dosa is a favourite dish among many South Indian Homes especially in Andhra Pradesh.

IT IS very easy to make samya dosa. The following are the items that are required to make the dough for making a dosa.

Items Required:

Samya - 2 cups

Bombai Ravva/ Semolina - 1 cup

Curd- 1 cup

Carrot ( scrapped) -  2 or 3 ( As per the requirement)

Corriander leaves (chopped) - As  per your requirement

Green Chillies- 7 or 8

Dry coconut (scrapped)- as per your taste or 10 small pieces.

½ tsp urad dal

1 tsp mustard seeds

2 tsp oil.


Take a vessel and fry the rava/ semolina and samya together without oil till it attains golden colour. Then, soak it in 3 and half cups of water for one hour. Meanwhile, get all the other required items ready. Scrap the carrots and coconut pieces. Chop the coriander leaves, cut green chillies into small pieces. Keep stirring the mixture every now and then.

After an hour, add one cup of curd to the above mixture. Also add carrot and coconut scrap, chillies, chopped coriander to it. Stir it well for five minutes.

Then, put some oil into a small dish and pour 2 tsp of oil. After 1 minute, add urad dal and mustard seeds to it. Take it after another minute. Now add this to the mixture which we prepared above. Stir it well again.

Now your dough to make Samya Dosa is ready. Make Dosas with it and serve it with Ginger sauce or any other sauce. So, the most delicious Samya Dosa is ready!
