Security alert in North Assam for R-Day

A security officer further added that besides the existing police force another two forces have been added around with sniffer dogs from SSB 3rd battalion have been utilised in sensitives areas of the district.

SONITPUR DISTRICT administration has taken all possible measure  to check  all untoward incident  during celebration of Republic DAY despite of bandh call was given by the certain organizations. Anand Prasad Tiwari SP Sonitpur, in an interview said that, "The police force assisted by para military forces have been further intensified throughout the district with additional forces alerted to prevent any incidents  in populated areas and villages bordering Arunachal Pradesh.”
 
He further added that besides the existing police force  another two forces have been added around with sniffer dogs from SSB 3rd battalion have been utilised in sensitives areas of the district. He also said the river areas across the  Brahmaputra has been    observed round  the clock and two more river boats were utilized by the river police  during dawn to dusk. The police officer further added that movement of vehicles have been thoroughly check at every entry point in the district adjoining Arunachal Pradesh.

"We are also engaged necessary numbers of sniffer dogs at every ceremonial grounds located at head quarters of three subdivision in Sonitpur district ", said Anand Prasad Tiwari SP Sonitpur and added that night patrolling in all parts of the district have been further intensified with motorbikes and vehicular traffic.
 
According to intelligence sources  there were several camps set up by the extremist groups adjoining Arunachal Pradesh  and the activities of  the cadres of at lest  two militant organizations could not be ignored. And the sources felt that constant security measured may be taken in every suspected house hold where the militant may have taken shelter paying regular rents for at least two month.
 
However  there were  no major incident after muss killing at Boimara adjoining Arunachal Pradesh in Sonitpur district  in November last year . Intelligences sources further said that after gearing up of ULFA activities by C-in-C Paresh Baruah it was suspected that a good number of ULFA activist have been migrated to northern bank of the Brahmaputra to assimilated with the smiler sentiment with the NDFB which are at  large in Sonitpur . A good number of business community have been receiving exportation notices particularly in Norther part of Sonitpur district.   
 
It has been observed that fear psychosis  has been prevailing among  the people of the region after the ULFA militant remained underground have not accepted the on going process of peace talk between ULFA leaders and the government.
