Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha Birthday Anniversary celebrated

In a simple and impressive function organized by Shaheed-e-Want Youth Orgnisation (Regd.) Punjab, Ferozepur, on Saturday late evening, organized a cultural programme dedicated to Kartar Singh Sababha (24 May 1896 – 16 November 1915) a Sikh revolutionary, a leading luminary of the Ghadar Party, who was amongst the most famous accused in the Labohre conspiracy trial and executed at Lahore for his role in the Ghadhar conspiracy.


The programme, first time ogranised in Ferozepur proved a mile stone with its aim to bring out the Punjabi youths out of the ooze of drugs and associating them with Sikhi, Punjabi culture and its rich heritage. While on this occasion, the Punjabi singers performed their skill with traditional and folk songs.

In this maiden programme, Amar Singh Chahal, DIG Ferozepur Range attended as Chief Guest and appreciated the initiative taken by the organization and assured all kinds of assistance to save the youths from ruining in the sixth river of drug addiction.

In this programme, the singer's attraction was of Sukjinder Sukhi, Loverly Sandhu,Mani Sidhu, Voice of Punjab Anantpal Billa, Sufi Singer Happy Arman, Sandhu Surjit and Kulwinder Billa on the music of Parminder Sandhu Musicial Group.

In the Mr.Singh 2014 Compoetition, 12 youths from different cities of Punjab participated, who were judged by experts of their fields, Harnavbir Singh Khalsa Ludhiana, Amrik Singh DPRO, Piara Singh Khasa BDPO and Amarik Singh Sher Khan, in four rounds of art, dress, appearance and question-answer.

Punjab Police employee and resident of Ferozepur Harmandeep Singh was judged as Mr.Singh 2014, Karnveir Singh, Engineering student from Kapurthala, first winner and Gurdeep Singh of Ferozepur as second winner.  Best turban award was bagged by Mandeep Singh, best motion Manbir Singh, Best laughing Jagjit Singh and best look by Nirmaljit Singh.

The first, second and third winner were awarded with a cash prize of Rs.11,000, Rs.5100 and Rs.3100 sponsored by Dr.Surjit Singh Sidhuy, Director, BKS College Muhar, Jaspal Handa and Iqbal Batti respectively.

The programme compeering was  speechless by Comedian Harinder Bhullar and Gurnam Singh National Awardee.

Apart from the Chief Guest, participants, organizers, in good number of local citizens and villagers from adjoining villages were present throughout the function continued late night.
