Shri Ram Sena (SRS) has sought an explanation from the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) for not supporting trifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir.
As per a statement, Shri Ram Sena in a meeting held under the chairmanship of its State President, Rajiv Mahajan though welcomed the stand taken by the Central as well as of State unit of Bhartiya Janta Party demanding union territory status for Ladakh region, "but it sought explanation from the party for not supporting the demand of Separate States for Kashmir Valley and Jammu region or trifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir State".
"It has to explain to the people of Jammu region and also those of Kashmir Valley for its double standards, one for Ladakh region and its opposition to creation of separate states for Kashmir Valley and Jammu region. BJP has to justify for making distinction between Ladakh, Jammu province and Kashmir Valley", the statement said.
The SRS asked the BJP to give the reasons that motivated it to demand Union territory status for Ladakh region and the logic to reject the demand of a separate Jammu State.
"Is it Ladakh region alone which has been suffering discrimination at the hands of Kashmiri Leadership? The agony and the plight of Jammu region are worse than Ladakh region. Ladakh region has got some administrative and financial autonomy because of the formation of Hill Development Councils, the credit for which goes to the struggle launched by the people of that region and the Congress Government at the centre", the SRS said adding "But both BJP and Congress failed to even provide Autonomous Regional Council status to Jammu province, though both the parties always keep the issue in their election manifestoes. It is irony that BJP, the party which claims that it has been fighting for the cause of people of Jammu region failed to launch any agitation for the empowerment of the people of Jammu region to end the domination of Kashmiri leadership, after 1953 agitation of Praja Parshid".
"Shri Ram Sena reiterates its demand of trifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir State as this is the only way to satisfy the aspirations and the interests of people of all the regions of the state and bring peace and prosperity in this part of the country", the meet observed.
Those present in the meeting included Bal Krishan Arora, Pawan Choudhary, Vijay Gupta, Sanjeev Kumar, Govind, Rakesh, Sham, Nittu, Vinay, Ajay, Ramesh Thakur, Nitin, Sunil and Others.
