Shri Ram Sena pays floral tributes to Justice Mehar Chand

To mark the 124th Birth Anniversary of veteran social reformist and well know legal luminary, Justice Mehar Chand Mahajan, Shri Ram Sena (SRS) paid floral tributes to Justice Mahajan at a function organised here under the leadership of Rajiv Mahajan, State President Shri Ram Sena.

Shri Ram Sena activists garlanded the portrait of Justice Mehar Chand, and observed two minutes silence praying for eternal peace to the departed soul.
Speaking on the occasion, State President Shri Ram Sena said that it was Mehar Chand Mahajan's genius to become as Prime Minister of Jammu and Kashmir in 1947 during the reign of erstwhile Maharaja Hari Singh.

Terming him instrumental in signing the Instrument of Accession, he said that it was Mahajan's persuation to Maharaja Hari Singh who signed up this Accession with India.

Pertinent to mention here that Mehar Chand Mahajan (born December 23, 1889, Tika Nagrota, Kangra district–1967) was the third Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India. Prior to that he was the Prime Minister of Jammu and Kashmir during the reign of Maharaja Hari Singh and played a key role in the accession of J&K to India. 

He was the Indian National Congress nominee on the Radcliff Commission that defined the boundaries of India and Pakistan.

Prominent among SRS activists who were present on the occasion include Bal Krishan Arora, Ajay Gupta, Anil Chopra, Pawan Choudhary, Vijayant Pathania, Yogesh Magotra, Pawan Verma, Deepak Salathia, S.C. Singh, Sandeep Singh, Sanjeev Sharma, Aman Gupta and Vijay Gupta.
