State President, Shri Ram Sena, Rajiv Mahajan along with party volunteers on Tuesday visited the Vridh Ashram Amphalla today to celebrate Matru-Pitru Poojan Divas instead of western influenced Valentine's Day.
They honoured inmates of Ashram by showing their love and devotion to them.
"This tradition will contribute to the preservation of our culture for the years to come," Rajiv said.
"In Hindu families it is a custom to bow down to touch the feet of elders and parents and this traditional custom emphasizes the value of elders. The concept of elders worship is deeply ingrained in the Hindu way of life but the next generation under the influence of western culture forgotten their old age custom," Rajiv said.
"It is the steady westernization that has been harming the fabric of our culture and concurrently has influenced our youth to forget our values," he said.
Rajiv stressed upon the youths that they should care their parents as there is no substitute for parents and we can reach to the ultimate heights in life only due to the blessings of our parents.
Later, SRS volunteers along with Rajiv Mahajan distributed eatables among the members of Vridh Ashram who in turn shared their experiences of life with the volunteers.
