Spend More, Save More is the philosophy of the 21st Century. You see the slogan over and over again. Buy two and get one free. 5% cash back on purchases with credit card. Collect reward points on every purchase. The whole concept is ridiculous. How can you save more by spending more?
That is particularly true for fixed income groups who often can hardly afford to buy things they do not need. But then the world is not for the unemployed; under employed or low fixed income groups.
The world is of the rich; run by the rich and for the rich (high net worth individuals). Unfortunately, my son also believes in spend more, save more. He has four LED TVs, but uses two. We have four printers but we use one. The list is endless.
Even gifting in the 21st Century comes with conditions.
