India’s new prodigy in the automotive world is not alone. After the much hyped Tata Nano was unveiled, Bengal Enamel is coming out with a small car ‘Tara Tiny’- a rival to the Nano.
Tara Tiny is going to be a four-seater and being a battery-operated green car, the cost of commuting will be just 50-70 paise every hour. The car needs to be re-charged everyday at the domestic electric point with 220 volts using a 15 amp socket. The electric car is likely to heat up the market in four to five months, latest by the time of Durga Pooja in Dushhera.
It has been priced at Rs. 99,999 in the traditional Indian way. It is a rupee cheaper than the one-lakh car. The price of the car is expected to be around Rs 99,999 to Rs 5.5 lakh considering that showroom prices and other local duties on the cheap car will significantly alter the price tag.
