Impressed with scenic splendor of Tulip garden

JAMMU,APRIL 11: It was Lalu, Rabri and family's day out in

Srinagar. And the outing was at various tourist spots in Srinagar

including in Asia's largest Tulip garden in Srinagar which has

been attracting Bollywood imagination.

 

The Union Minister for Railways Lalu Prasad Yadav accompanied by

his wife Rabri Devi and other family members visited Tulip garden

in Srinagar couple of days ago and were highly impressed by the scenic splendor presented by 12 lakh blooming tulips of 60 varieties.

 

Mr Lalu Yadav said he knew Kashmir was known for its beauty

throughout the world and is a jewel in the crown of India but did

not know about this tulip garden. He said tourists and visitors in

great numbers come to visit this beautiful place of the country

adding that newly developed tulip garden was another important

place where tourists can have a break from the mundane affairs of

routine life.

 

Director Floriculture Kashmir briefed the visiting dignitaries

about the salient features of this garden. He said the garden is

being developed as one of the largest tulip garden in the world.

 

Lalu and family later visited Dachigam National Park and spent

some time there.The trout fish farm developed there for promotion

of pesiculture in general and cold water species in particular

attracted his attention. He then also visited Dal Lake with other

family members and enjoyed a boat ride in the world famous water

body.

 

Interacting with media persons on the side lines of his visit to

these places, the Union Minister said inflation though a matter of

concern was not confined to India alone but was affecting the

economies of countries across the globe. He said the central

government had initiated several measures to curb inflation and

bring down the prices of essentials. He said strict punitive

action would be taken against those indulging in hoarding of

essentials and resorting to profiteering.
