Veteran journalist, author and founder of Outlook Magazine Vinod Mehta (72) passed away after prolonged illness in the Delhi on Sunday, March 8. His last rites were performed the same day in the evening at Lodhi Crematorium.
His death has been condoled by journalists, media persons and politicians alike. Condoling Mehta's death Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, "Frank & direct in his opinions, Vinod Mehta will be remembered as a fine journalist & writer. Condolences to his family on his demise.@narendramodi" Many journalists have also tweeted their condolences which can be accessed on the social media.
Mehta (1942-2015) will be remembered as one of most successful journalist and editor who had launched a number of publications such as the Sunday Observer, Indian Post, The Independent, The Pioneer-Delhi edition, and Outlook. The last post he held was the editorial Chairman of the Outlook.
Mehta had been a popular TV panelist for shows like Newshour on Times Now and CNN-IBN. He was called upon by News anchors as a pleasant and charming senior journalist for his analysis of major political issues and events.
