VOTERS DEMANDS BEFORE POLITICAL PARTIES
TR. Madhavan | 07 Jan 2014

Well ahead of the forthcoming elections the residents formed a Forum and have passed a unanimous resolution to vote whichever party redresses the grievances on first cum first serve basis.

Civic problems continue to plague a nine block apartment complex which has come up a decade ago. Right from unclean roads to overflowing drains issues here are plenty. The colony with about nine apartment’s blocks and over 800 families belong to lower and middle class does not have dedicated water supply. Buy water containers everyday to meet requirements and depend on bore wells for other needs. Another problem faced by the resident is due to frequent accumulation of dirty water in front of the blocks in the low lying area. The only open area in the colony that was to be developed as a park by the GHMC lakhs have been spent in creating the basic needs for the park was left half way and is now used as a colony playground for quite a few years.

Even after several complaints to the elected representatives and authorities no action has been initiated on various issues which plague the residents.

Well ahead of the forthcoming elections the residents formed a Forum and have passed a unanimous resolution to vote whichever party redresses the grievances on first cum first serve basis.

The demands they to all the political parties Telugu Desam, Congress, YSR Congress, Telangana Rashtra Samiti, Bharathiya janta party, Lok Satta Patty and even Aam AAdmi Party by email are as follows;

POLLING BOOTH - The voters of the nine apartments are divided into two polling booths one at UPS, Upparpally and another at MMPS, Chintalmet. For the all the voters the polling booth should be allotted in UPS, Upparpally in two or three polling booths.

WATER - Drinking water is being purchased at a higher price from the private vendors. Under GHMC scheme coin operated water purifying machine of capacity of about 10,000 ltrs a day should be installed for the benefit of 700 odd families and in turn an income generation for the GHMC as well as HMWS&SB.

Rain Water Harvesting pits should be constructed in about 8 bore wells under GHMC Scheme.

ELECTRICITY - Installation of Solar Panels in the roof top for the entire nine block power capacity and APCPDCL can sell extra electricity to the grid as the APCPDCL Scheme and norms. The project can be first of its kind in the twin cities and the elected representatives should request the State Government as Pilot Project.

SANITATION & WASTE MANAGEMENT - The Apartment’s sewerage network which is in bad shape has to be rectified as per the norms prescribed and Storm Water Drain should also be laid through the connecting roads in and around the apartments by the GHMC and HMWS&SB.

ROADS - The GHMC has already laid the CC roads in and around the apartments several years back. The roads have to be re laid as there several pot holes and up and down in the existing roads. The open ground which is under control of the GHMC has to be developed as a decent park.

TRANSPORT – Since a decade buses used to halt at near pillar no 185 PVNR Expressway. Since a year and half the bus does halt here. The RTC buses of all route and services plying via this bus stop should be made to halt. Request Stop board and Bus Shelter should be constructed in both the sides of the road.

The RTC should extend the bus service 94 U – Upparpally to Koti to Upparpally Cross Roads and divert bus route 94/70 Dairy Farm to Charminar, 92 S Rajendranagar to Sanatnagar and 92 E Rajendranagar to Jeedimetla via pillar no 185 bus stop.

 TRAFFIC SIGNALS AND SIGN BOARDS - The vehicular traffic has been increasing day by day in the inner ring road beneath the PVNR Expressway. In several Places the HMDA has left gap in median under the expressway for pedestrian crossing etc. None of these gaps have orange indicating signal lights or zebra crossing markings. Lack of signals the women, children and others are put to lot of hardship while crossing the road. There is urgent need of Orange indicating signals as well as zebra crossing markings near pillar numbers - 185 & 186 as well as 199 & 198. Near these gaps there is a bus stop and educational institutions.

The Cyberabad traffic police even after having statistics of number of accidents etc taking place have failed to install traffic signals in two crossings. 1) At Upparpally Cross Roads - Pillar No. 175 & 176 and 2) At Chintalmet tri cross roads - Pillar No. 202 & 203. Due to non installation of signal and zebra crossing markings the vehicle drivers do drive at a greater speed and two wheeler, school buses etc take advantage of the situation and drive on the wrong side.

 One has to wait and watch will the political parties attend to the issues raised by the residents.
