Ashok's comment on Hindi: Our National Language?
"According to me Hindi is not a language at all." wake up buddy. Good morning. Hindi is of course not our National Language but your comment show deep prejudice against Hindi. Since you are so bogged down by Hindi take a break and try to understand why Punjab,Rajasthan,Maharastra,West Bengal,Gujrat,Bihar,Orrisa doest have any issue with Hindi. So people from these states are fool or languages from these states are inferior to language you speak. May be you think the languages spoken in these states are much inferior to your language because you have self certified that hindi is not language. Hindi is not my mother tongue but I will vote for Hindi anyday. Hindi imposition will have deadly side effects I know.It will only breed cheap politics and cheaper politicians. If the mind set of educated folks (I am assuming that everyone here is at least a graduate) are like this one can image the hatred in the heart of less educated from that part of India. The only solution lies in massive development of Hindi belt otherwise this deep hatred towards their own countrymen will not go easily. Due to non development every tom-dick-harry has got the birth right to spew venom against anything Hindi on otherwise non-harmful online boards.

HI Ashok, I am from Maharashtra & I have no problem with Hindi. I only go mad when people give me the surprised look when I tell them I don't usually speak in Hindi ( Nor do I like to do so ). What's up with that? Why Hindi? Why not Marathi, Tamil, Punjabi, Orissi or some other official language? Why Hindi? Ohh...it's widely spoken. You know why it's widely spoken? Because people who spoke hindi in the beginning, a long time ago, migrated into other states & they clearly refused to learn the language of the state they lived in & as you may already know majority wins. that's exactly happened. Looking at the increasing number of Hindi speaking people, government decided to make Hindi an obvious language of India for no f***ng reason whatsoever. Well, even though I speak fluently, I make it a point that I speak my mother tongue just as much. I stand right by South Indians if they appose Hindi as a National language. We are all Indians after all. One language doesn't define us all. FYI, nobody is prejudiced against the language, We are prejudiced against the attitude.

Dear Sandeep, You said people from Punjab, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Orissa etc. dont have problem with Hindi...they why south Indians have.. This will answer your question.... The lanuages Gujrati, Bhojpuri, Bengali, Rajasthani, Bihari , Marathi, Odiya(to little less extent) have roots in Hindi...They have much more similarity towards Hindi than any of the south Indian Languages...The dissimilarity between any south Indian language to Hindi may it be in script or spoken language is many hundred times compared the north Indian Languages to Hindi... Final word is :::: Imposing Hindi as a sole national Language has no sense. & will surely cause a civil war in India.....

Dear Ashok, You said "If the mind set of educated folks (I am assuming that everyone here is at least a graduate) are like this one can image the hatred in the heart of less educated from that part of India"......Do you accept if Tamil or Telugu will be made the sole National Language of India. Why only the massive development Hindi Belt is the solution. Why not the massive development of other languages... The thing is you need not force one language as sole national language... You might give the reason that Hindi is either spoken or understood by majority Indians...Rajaji once said that "If you go by the majority, why did you make PEGION as the national bird if the population of CROWS is much more than pegions"... I am not insulting any language here. But, I want to know why Hindi people have Hatred in their mind towards southIndian Languages....Is it because south Indians did not accept Hindi as National Language...Why they will accept? Do you accept if the country forces Telugu as a National Language on you?....The Solution is :::: There are 19 national languages for India. And the Centre should not focus on one particular language to develop it....May it be Hindi May it be tamil or Telugu...
