Writer Jyotish Chandra bestowed with Dhanraj Agarwalla memorial award
Noted social worker and businessman, late Dhanraj Agarwalla memorial award for literature for the year 2013 was conferred on writer Mr Jyotish Chandra Kalita. Late Ratanlal Saraf Memorial award for Journalism was conferred on Anit Pratim Baruah and late Gita Devi Agarwalla memorial Award for Social Welfare was conferred on Sayaram Kumar.

ABSU organises cycle rally to raise awareness on wildlife conservation
More than 200 cyclists, who participated in a cycle rally-cum-awareness programme, organised by Bagsa District committee of ABSU to conserve the Manas National Park on 23, 24 March, cycled more than 150 kilometres.

A woman is at the core of our family values. Due to age-old customs and prejudices prevalent in our society, she has, however, been made to feel inferior and is perceived to be weak. Injustice and discrimination against women in modern times have reached to an alarming level, and a situation has arisen where taking measures to prevent such atrocities has become necessary.

Guwahati hosts a talk on entrepreneurship
To bring change in the society, it is important that young people learn entrepreneurship skills and interact with experienced persons. In a bid to promote such interaction, North East Youth Foundation (NEYF) organised a talk programme on entrepreneurship at Flamez Cafe in Guwahati on 19 March.
