Boot polish veranda in the heart of Chandigarh city
But irony is that a place which is located in the heart of sector 17 is the ?Boot Polish Varanda?. Through this place thousands of people and the visitors pass through but without much notice. In this varanda more than 35 shoe polishers are shining the shoes of the residents since last more than 40 years. My interactions with these shoe shining boys came out with interesting revelations. The leader of this team Mr. Pappy informed me that on this place his grandfather used to work then this profession was taken over by his father and now he is there to continue. He tells me that our parents were settled here way back during 1960. They were the residents of famous Kumhar Colony (sector 25 Chandigarh) and now were allotted separate residential units in Bhaskar Colony in Chandigarh. Meanwhil

Night Food Street of Chandigarh drawing people from afar
Welcome to Chandigarh's first 'night food street'. It seems that nights will never end. The vibrant and colorful lights keep this part young and energetic. I heard a lot about this food court but had never been to this place. The area is neat and clean so is the sitting arrangement. One can see people coming from far and near places. Over time, it has become a very popular place, and draws crowds from all walks of life.

Manimajra becomes Abbotabad for Oscar-nominated film 'Zero Dark Thirty'
Manimajra is one of the oldest towns near Chandigarh. It is located on Chandigarh- Shimla highway towards the east of the city. It has a population of approximately three lakh. Originally, Manimajra was just like a village, but now it has been turned into a small town. This town has three main divisions of the total area which include Mariwala Town, Pipli Wala Town and the old Manimajra around majestic medieval Manimajra fort. This is the oldest fort in this area but lies now in a dilapidated condition.
