The financial scandal at Satyam has shaken the Indian corporate world, particularly software industry. Questions are being raised about the quality of corporate governance, the role of auditors and regulatory bodies. The scam has dented the image of India's IT dream story worldwide and it now remains to be seen as to how software companies would deal with their tarnished image.

While it is true that the Satyam scandal has dented India's corporate image to an extent, the quick action of the regulator, SEBI, has restored the confidence of the investors in India's corporate image. While such scandals seem mundane in the US and other Western countries, a lot of hue and cry is being raised in India, since a scam of this magnitude has been unprecedented. Satyam scam has been a 'blessing in disguise' as the other corporates can certainly learn a great lesson from this fiasco and prevent any such future fraudulent activities to uphold the corporate image of India.

yes the satyam fiasco has tarnished India's corporate image and it is not only Satyam but India's entire corporate secor that will have to bear the brunt of Raju's wrongdoings. this dark mark will take long to be removed completely.

many people face problem through this and definetly tarnished india corporate image. The case of Satyam Computer is neither the first nor the last corporate fraud to have hit India but the investors should always be on guard and ask for more information before making any investment decision, former SEBI Chairman M Damodaran said on Wednesday

the satyam scandal will have a very bad impact on India Inc. it will take long to move out of it.

Minor shareholder should understand that we are not safe in Indian corporate world because regulatory authorities are just for name, not for doing any action against faulty activities. As we know Corporate world and guilty minds have strong relation from past. Satyam fraud is a big slap on the face of Indian corporate world.
Madam Moninderpal : Jan 17, 2009
Yes. Satyam fraud has definitely tarnished India's corporate image and has raised questions on corporate governance as well. Its afterall the money of the people and a huge chunk comes from the investors and the clients of the company. This has raised questions on the credibility and authenticity of the corporate world in India.

satyam points to a system failure as well. this negative label is going to stick for a long time. read with the black listing of wipro by world bank it is clear our country is really in for a bad phase. solace is is that no country is an exception. so i agree 80%

thousands of scams accross the globe. each mishappening opening a nische for a revival renaissance a revolution for betterment improvement and rectifications. alfred lord tennyson said 'the old order changeth yielding place to new' so if people do not have insight and start believing the superfluous, it is their mistake to trust blindly. we need to be cautious. we need to amend our ways of giving / taking power. we make the begger and the great leviathan.

Satyam saga should be viewed as one case of fraud not as dampner to the whole IT or corporate india image damager. It is not that in western countries there are no such incidents happning. Maddoff episode is an eyeopener for SEC in US.
