I completely agree that it has shown India in the poorest light. There are countless number of positive aspects about our country which could have been projected in the movie. But, they showed only the dark underbelly of India. But i do not take this as a negative, I take it as a point narrated by a foreigner and will give my best to improve the country's economy and make it one of the best places to live in. Remember, you've never considered a failure until you agree that you've failed. If you say, 'i'll try one more time', you'll definitely succeed someday. Similarly, i consider and wish that a movie like this won't degrade our spirits, instead it should ncourage us to improve the country's situation. jai hind

There's not a red light without children asking begging, wailing, crying, not a footpath whjere you can't see people lying without a piece of clothe on them. What do you call it, if not poverty. Slumdog portray's the reality that Indian is!

Yes it's the reality, People living in plush bunglows may ignore poverty lying on the road but that doesn't chnage facts. Indian remains a land of extremes..extreme riches and extreme poverty. There's not a red light without children asking begging, wailing, crying, not a footpath whjere you can't see people lying without a piece of clothe on them. What do you call it, if not poverty. Slumdog portray's the reality that Indian is!

Nah...it is not at all d India's grim reality... Although it used to exist but years b4...India's grim reality is dat 3 out top 5 world billionaires r Indians, Bollywood makes much more movies den Hollywood evry year, half of NASA scientists r indians n same is wid Doctors n IT industry. IIMs n IITs r knwn wrld ova... Those were Britishers who made India poor...bt India has made a remarkable progress to overcome its poverty. Bt still I'm sad to see dat few Indians still tink dat India is poor...I challenge evryone who has such mentality to have a debate wid me on dis topic. I'll shut der mouths bcuz poverty is more in African countries...bt der r lot of enemies who r nt happy wid India's progress.

we do not have to ape the west to make our world ours and different. who the hell are these people to rate india in terms of its miseries. who the heck are they tell us that the films we make are to of some standards? we do not give a damn to their films. slumdog is farse aimed at making money and demaning the nation. it does damage the nations by way of manpower waste watching it and the PR image of the naiton being made outside the world. we need ourown bench marks to rate our produtions. AR rehman need to look at indian values and system. those ones that sproted out the other day do not have the right to rate us. they are our by products. india cannot be portrayed any big a frame. it is so huge, so sublime and so and so and so. millionaire, damn
