  Are actors good politicians?

With the Lok Sabha elections just days away, many actors are trying to script a political role for themselves, yet again. Whether it's Shatrughan Sinha (Bharatiya Janata Party) pitted against Shekhar Suman (Congress) in Patna Saheb or Jaya Prada and Nafisa Ali (Samajwadi Party). The last election saw Dharmendra and Govinda playing MPs. If North India has its share of actors, South India is not far behind in its share of larger-than-just-heroes and heroines – Chiranjeevi (Praja Rajyam Party), Vijayashanti (Telangana Rashtra Samiti), Jayalithaa – just to name a few. Does just being an actor makes one qualified for politics? Do both these fields share common traits? Is acting a part of politics? Are actors good politicians?

we Must get the detailed information before speaking about some person. May be he is the politician or actor. His do's and Undo's. Is there any crimical cases are filed him or any mischeous arguments has come on him. We need to analise and we need to speak about them.

An exception is Late M.G.Ramachandran - he always wanted to act in movies which had a good message for the masses - he believed in the principle of "of the poor"; "for the poor" and "by the poor" - most of his wealth acquisitions during his prime tenure have been generously donated back to the Government and the State - I wish if aspiring actors to become politicians simply emulate late Dr. M.G.Ramachandran lots of good will bound to happen for the society.

They are as their counterparts are either born criminals or highly corrupt . Atleast the actors have seen good things in life and picked up some good manerism in the course of their careers. We should also not forget that they are like any of us doing a job, paying tjeir taxes, partying etc. I consider that politicians are not born and neither their are specealised graduation courses being offered in our country to become a politician. They the actors are a good lot and would always prove to be good polticians in the long run.

Actors live in a world of fictions. Do they know how our nation is suffering? No, they don't know. Many wollywood stars, today, are the member of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Did they change anything? Did they ever think what should be done to eliminate the corruption? No, because they have their own axe to grind and nothing more than this. They don't want to serve the nation but serve theirself only. This is the only truth.

they may be good actors, but do they understand the intricasies of politics? Their acting may have a great impact on the movie, but here we are talking about the impact it makes to the nation. Nexus between actors and politics has always been there. its not a new thing. but i have never seen an actor who has eventually become a good politician. compaigning for a particular party is a different thing. Everybody has right to express his view. But that doesn't mean they they can carry out the responsibilities effectively too. There is nothing like actors cannot become a good politician. I mean anybody of us can be a good politician. most of us have the ability. however we cannot generalise the same for a group of people.
Atiq : Apr 19, 2009
Let actors work for bollywood. I cant see any valid reason for an actor to be a politician. We need an erudite person. I believe all actors dont deserve to be a politician. Actors are very good in their field but it doesn't mean that they have got all qualities that a politician should posses. I believe that some join politics just for their own reason not for the welfare of common people of India. We need highly educated and deserving politicians.
sweety : Apr 18, 2009
actors are very rarely good politicians in India. Most of the actors are turning to politics because they either don't have the stamina and charishma in cenema or to protect their wealth from IT raids. Truly nowadays no actor is turning to politics with service motive. The likes of MGR, NTR and Jayalalitha have proved themselves as good politicians also, but 99.99 of the actors, who are entering into politics nowadays are not at all fit to be good politicians, because they don't know anything about ideologies of their parties or they dont have even a shallow idea of what people require. The worst case scenario is that some of the bollywood actresses and actors are doing business with parties by supporting them in the elections. For example Salman Khan is ironically campaigning for both BJP and Congress party candidates. So in this kind of situation how can one say that actors can be good politicians?

Yes, In indian politics every thing is possible, when ciriminals are in polictics and they are ruling us, then why can't be actors in politics. And actors are very good to tell lies in front of the people. Bcoz they have very good training in cinema.

a successful political leader is the person who has knowledge of the current situation and has his own conscience to make decisions.Actors do lack this quality
