| Teachers are first human beings and then teachers. If India is going to be recognised as a "Knowledge Society" in the days to come, top priority should be given to the various demands of teachers. Today the scene is teachers are very much in demand but their payscales are very poor; in private schools they are supposed to do more work compared to their peers in Government schools and again there is a wide disparity in pay scales - teachers in Govt. schools enjoy better salary than in many of the private school teachers. Many sub standard and dubious institutions have sprung up offering courses something like equivalent to B.Ed promising students to get started in a teaching course - they need to be cracked down whereexisting. Right from school level, students should be encouraged to take up for teaching course so that they turn out to be better/best quality oriented teachers. Again, teachers being human beings, are seeing their students earning great salaries compared to what they are getting; therefore teachers' salary levels need to go up very high. Lastly, students should not be forced to take teaching as a profession as this will impact the quality of teaching to a great extent. Teachers should be periodically sent for modern and uptodate training in teaching so that their deliverable standards keep going high and high. Lastly, the pool of good quality teachers have to go up in big numbers otherwise our education society will suffer for want of sincere, good, quality conscious teachers. |

| It is more than teachers can expect in changing scenario of India. No more GURU like status and no more that capability to lead and teach. Otherwise, there would be no need of EXTRA COACHING CLASSES and TUTION things.
Teachers have lost their status and thanks to all resources like internet and information flowing on TV's and above all reduced quality of education. |

| True. Teachers, though they impart knowledge and groom a naive brain and body into a book of wisdom and discipline, are not given their due. Especially in the urban context, teachers are not given the respect and status they ought to. They are ill-treated by students and often mocked at. Things are comparatively better in the rural counterpart as importance is still given to knowledge, than placements and money in the urban educational scene. |

| No, nowadays teaching as a proffession is hidden in dark. Neither they paid much ,the toil involved by them are left in solitude by mere words of appreciation. Though they work for respect ,but today this is also less. |
