  • Law and order is the backbone of an organised society. The Government has the responsibility to maintain peace and social order. Even the early history of Mumbai reveals tat the strong British rule in the region gave courage to the business communities to settle there. Even the notorious foreign intruder succeeded in maintaining peace and ensuring security, the native government can definitely do it. If they fail it is evidfent that they are obliged to satisfy certain unfair motives of somebody. We, the citizens shouldnt allow it.   (20th May , 2009)

  • With the globla economic meltdown the unemployment is increasing. The jobs in private sector have become volitile and freshers have no hope as the companies are resorting to job cuts to meet out their expenses. Its the resposibility of the state and its political representatives to show the youth of this country the way forward and give utmost priority to unemployment problem.   (14th Apr , 2009)

  • There is crying need to create NEW cities!.The existing ones are bursting at the seams , their resources stretched to the maximum beyond improvement. A decentralised systematic plan should be executed on a war footing to create PLANNED cities to reduce the burden on the existing cities and reverse the exodus and demographic imbalances. This would also address the need to have modern employment. education and housing needs closer home to the varied populace of India. The roads and swift. affordable, safe and cleanpublic transport should be accorded highest priority. A multi mode inter state particularly NCR and other linkedsattelite towns in other parts of India should also be developed to provide easy seamless commuting.   (8th Apr , 2009)

  • Reservation in any guise has no place in a democracy. If help and reach needs to be extended in any way to any grou.p it should be issue based, implemented through schemes within specified time periods in atransperent manner. Relying on reservations creates both animosity and apathy which not only divides but retards society and the nation.   (8th Apr , 2009)

  • There shouldn't be any reservation based on cast at this point of time when society has mentally evolved a lot. Reservation at present just evokes antipathy for the other caste members. Reservation is a tool of social equity so at present situation should be extented to the economically backward people, they may belong to any caste, creed or religion.   (6th Apr , 2009)

Today our country doesn't require leaders who make tall promises before election and once get elected care a damn but will be only concerned to maintain the chair, wealth and status. Country needs a leader like the US President Obama who not only cfares for the country but for the people too. Can we have such leaders?   (6th Apr , 2009)

  • I beleive there shouldn't be any reservation for any caste. Reservation should be on the basis of actual economic condition of the individual only. Reservation of seats should not be there in any field, however government should help financially the economically weaker sections of the country irrespective of the cast and religion.   (5th Apr , 2009)

  • If only we strengthen the base of Educational Pyramid by building hundreds of "Rural Boarding Schools of Excellence" and insisting on 100% basic education by a carrot and stick policy, the brilliant among the so called "Backwards" will shine and if offered free education upto their maximum potential would walk through the portals of higher learning on their own steady and firm feet and without the crutches of "reservation". So instead of spending Crores of rupees for Ivory Tower institutions start these "Rural Boarding Schools of Excellence".   (5th Apr , 2009)
    -Dr M Mohan Rao.
  • Communicable diseases are more or less well controlled, though lots more needs to be done especially in the new fashionable disease of HIV in addition to old ones like TB, Leprosy etc. Many diseases can be prevented by proper sanitation and protected water supply to all especially to rural folk. Provide these basic health needs in addition to existing preventive vaccinations etc . Education and knowledge of preventive health practices must be provided to all. The basic Primary health centres in Village level and bigger Hospitals at Taluk & District level need complete revemping taking priority over Modern Showcase Tertiary Hospitals in Metropoilitan Cities.   (5th Apr , 2009)
    -Dr M Mohan Rao
  • We need strong base for our educational pyramid by 100% - yes Hundred Pertcent - basic education upto 10th standard. Provide top quality Rural Boarding Schools of Excellence, taking help of Corporate houses (giving them tax sops for this). Make basic schooling compulsory by providing incentives and disincentives in distributing or withdrawing BPL ration cards, free power for agriculture etc. Offer vocationaol training also to get better farmers, workers, carpenters etc. The brilliant among all classes including those from "backwards" will shine; provide them free education to fulfill their potential. They will walk through the portals of IITs and Business Schools on their own feet and not on reservations. No need to now spend on IITS and IBMs. Start hundreds of "Rural Boarding Schools of Excellence".   (5th Apr , 2009)

All other incriminating information that leads to discrimination should be stopped immediate. A generation later we may be able to get rid of the evils that pervade our society.   (5th Apr , 2009)

  • For the past 50 years above the political parties who came to the power had only said to literate people. But infact no political parties tried heartly or not tried their best to really educate the people of India. In fact, they thought if the peoples (mainly rural) will become educated then they can't fool anybody. In my view the people of India (Rural) rather need real education which can literate, cultured them and they will be able decide what is best or worst for them; not the developmental programmes which make them dependent and idle.   (5th Apr , 2009)
    -Santosh Kumar Panda

  • The social law and order condition has been deteriorating with a great pace. No matter which party forms the government , we don't expect or hope any positive change in the scenario, as each political party is trying its hard to get the vote only by befooling us. But this time we will have to hit back by not voting and first putting our demands infront of them.   (5th Apr , 2009)

  • stop reservations on the basis of caste and stop dividing nation on the basis of caste, religion and region.. but reservations may be provided to really needy people on the basis of poverty level. we need quality and not reservations since reservations degrade the quality of education, and services. reservations may be provided to women since they still need upliftment in the society, but only 5 % or so.   (5th Apr , 2009)

  • I feel that we can never b a strong developed nation if millions of people even 2day stave to death, dont hav access 2 proper living conditions like sanitation, housing facilities, education, employment, food security etc. India stands at d top of list of d countries with most undernourished children! Poverty is at its peak! This is just appalling! Even 2day what d developed nations contemplate of India is the agonizing poverty, famished children, malodorous streets..... n d list goes on n on..... I dont say that there's been no improvement in d past 60 years bt v need stringent, dedicated steps to eradicate completely this scourge of poverty! This would b my first priority n demand from d govt. of India.   (5th Apr , 2009)

  • Never ask caste nor entertain anybody on caste basis. All men and women are made in the likeness and image of God and therefore all are equal before God and law of the land. Reservation on basis of caste should end. There could be some reservation at the entry point on the basis of economic and basis but not for promotion and subsequent level.   (5th Apr , 2009)

  • Sports is not a luxury of the rich but more of a law and order issue for a country. Sports relieves stresses in individual minds, brings in socialisation, fitness in individuals. Every village should mandatorily maintain a sport ground and sports events to be hosted weekly.   (5th Apr , 2009)

  • these I have elicited my views on subjects close at heart. The first is Employment. If the Nation can be gainfully employed, it is definitely moving ahead. A law should be legislated that all structures should be painted every seven years. This one law will create millions of job opportunities and have a cascading effect. Besides reinforcing structures and ensuring a longer life, avoid loss of human life and property, a cleaner and brighter environment and high employment creation at the lower strata of society, creation of more industries in the steel, Cement, Sand, Stone, paint, scaffolding and related sectors. Employment Opportunities One of the main causes of frustration for the educated is to stay unemployed. A regular survey is to be conducted and a forecast annually published of the various opportunities available between years five to ten from the year of publication. By this students will have a better idea of the direction they should orient their education to be better employed.   (5th Apr , 2009)

  • Encroachments There is an increasing tendency of shops and establishments to encroach upon the Public space or pedestrian footpaths, by muscle power or otherwise. A law should be introduced that prevent any establishment or eatery from expanding beyond the original approved building plan and built up area. Permissions if granted by any authority earlier should all be cancelled. Thus all commercial establishments will have to procure additional space for expanding their activities, or give rise to opportunities for new entrants to venture into business. This will cause greater creation and better distribution of wealth. Even storage outside the shop limits should be banned. This law will create a greater demand of built space and increase the revenue collections. This law should also be made applicable on those who have expanded in their residential Society space. These expansions should be completely cleared and no permission given. Permission should be given to residents of Housing Societies to convert their apartments for any business activity, which is in the accepted lists of trade acknowledged and accepted by the society. This will create more opportunities for creation of wealth, and ensure that prices are within control through a healthy competition. Licences to be issued to all those engaged in commercial activity. Another major cause of encroachment is for slumlords to capture spots and erect places of worship. A law should be legislated that for a place of worship to be recognised as one, it is necessary that the spot be earmarked and designated as such. We find suddenly in a slum a spot which was a hutment suddenly emerging as a Temple or Masjid. This causes resentment and disturbance in the neighbourhood. The Law should treat such places as illegal and have them demolished.   (5th Apr , 2009)

  • Education: I would like to share some of my views with you on Education as mentioned below: If we are to move ahead as a nation then education is a must. Education can be categorised as primary, secondary, tertiary and Quarteriary. Primary education should be free and compulsory until the Seventh standard. Secondary should be until the Tenth Standard. Higher secondary should be until the Twelfth standard. Tertiary should be until the fifteenth standard. Quarteriary should be until the seventeenth standard. Primary education should teach all the basics. ie. Value Education, Human relations, Environmental studies, Social Behaviour, Respect of Heritage, basic communication in International, National and Regional language, basic sciences, basic arithmetic. Language, Science, and Arithmetic should not be taught as a standalone subject, but should be integrated with all topics to help the student understand better. The other subjects being Yoga, Sports, Music – vocal and Instrumental, Dance and its varied forms. This will help evolve a better human being. Students should be examined by having them give presentations in their class on chosen topics, and failure by repetition should be avoided. On completion of primary one can opt either to continue in secondary or attend vocational courses. viz: Carpentry, Electricians, Plumbing etc. A two-year course with six months apprenticeship should deserve a Certificate. Secondary education should permit the student to choose his subjects. He must attempt a minimum of seven hundred marks at the exams. Of these there should be language, a science and arithmetic for 100 marks each. Languages should be examined with 45% allotted to spoken and expressive power, 35% to reading abilities, and 20% on ability to write. Students should not be made to learn answers in languages or memorise text. The passages should be provided at exams and their ability to comprehend and respond should be gauged. For the remaining Four hundred marks he can attempt more languages or higher level languages, higher sciences, higher mathematics, social and nature studies etc. Of these Environmental Studies and Heritage studies should be compulsory and integrated in Science, History, and Social studies. Completion of secondary can entitle one to appear for Diploma courses. Entry level subjects for each course should be defined and students at secondary levels know that their choice of subjects will entitle admission only to select courses. Diploma courses should be three years academic with one-year apprenticeship Higher secondary and its choice of subjects entitle one to Degree level courses. The choice of entry-level subjects in each discipline is clearly defined for the student to choose his career objective. Tertiary education or the Degree/Diploma level of education should be awarded only on completion of three years academics and one year apprenticeship. While apprenticeship in vocational courses will be got at in Industry. The Pure arts, Science and Commerce must also have a year’s apprenticeship at the third year level where students have to serve society. The choice of subjects can be varied and the student can choose his or her affiliation to an NGO or other associations wherein detailed study and contribution is possible. These students should be asked to meet monthly and share experience. The fourth-academic year will be a blend of education and practical experience. Quarteriary education is the next phase at Post Diploma or postgraduate levels. It is a two-year course with intensified study on a given theme. This too must have a six-month tenure when the student is listed with an N.G.O. and contributes further to the betterment of Society. Gradation of Schools : To get the competitive spirit, Schools should be Graded as per the Results achieved by its Students in Public Exams individually and collectively, The extra-curricular activities conducted etc. Based on these Grades the School should be permitted to charge fees etc. Even the Teachers emoluments should be linked to the Grade of the School. This will cause all to strive for excellence.   (5th Apr , 2009)

  • Reservation has never been an issue in our society but it was converted into an issue by shrewd politicians. Reservation has not resolved the problem of unemployment but was successful in dividing the society that too based on a misinformation. Today maximum of 50% reservation is given to the govt employees which hardly forms .1% of total population. What is happening with remaining 120 crore population should be looked into but no one bothers about this fact. This also shows what current breed of politicians could do to our country for their own benefit. Today technology has enough means of generating employment that can provide 10 times more employment for backward class than cast based reservation system but our visionless govts will never do that as this comes at the cost of awareness among poor which is highly injurious to political leaders heath.   (4th Apr , 2009)

If we have an educated generation, who can excel in diverse fields, and if we can assist in their migration to distant lands, then we are populating the world with our value systems, ideals, culture, ethos. • CLIMATE CHANGE We are passing through a very critical phase of Earth's life.I f this kind of population explosion takes place through out the globe it will not be very far that the regular climatic circle will cease and we may not experience the real seasonal effect at the proper time as it was few years back. With the growth of population our daily needs increase. We may have to provide food, clothe, shelter and luxury items to every citizen in the form of power, transport, communication,I&T,arms and ammunitions etc.To provide these we my have to establish mor number of industries.More number of industries will produce more Carbon Dioxide and Carbon Monoxide that causes pollution and Global warming. As per the global summit on Environment and Ecology each country of the world has been allotted a special quota for producing CO2.They have to pay penalty if they produce more than that.India is also a member of that Eco club. Therefore, it is obligatory to produce less Carbon Dioxide and CO in order to pay less penalty. The CFC(CHLORO FLOURO CARBON) emitted by the refrigerators and Air Conditioners are responsible for more prodution of Carbon and thereby temperature changes resulting to Global Climate changes.Due to Global warming thare is rise in temperature in Arctic a nd Antarctic regions which were supposed to be the coldest places in the world. ,where the temperature goes -273oC.It is reported that the Ice and glaciers of this region has started melting and the water has started entering the the seven seas of the world in large quantities thereby increasing the coastal level of many countries. Many seaside countries hve been submerged or going to be submerged very soon.the white Polar bears and the Seal fishes now find it dificult to live over there,The Eskimos ,the original natives also find no land on Ice to make their Igloos. The CO2 and Co emissions have made big holes in the protective Ozone layer ;thus allowing the harnful Ultra-Violet rays to trickle into the Earth's atmosphere. I therefore urge the present Govt.or the Govt. tobe choosen through the next Lok Sabha elections to take necessary measures and drastic measures to save this beautiful Earth of ours created by our Creator for the human beings and the animal kingdom. Let us propogate through this media to produce less carbon, the meaure cause of climate change. Now a Carbon market has come up in tha global arena, where Carbon is being sold and purchased as per the producing capacity of a country. The latest version if reducing the Carbon We must endeavour Dioxide is to store it in the Sea bed.for ever.We must endeavour in this direction to ensure reduction of Global warming and thereby Climate Change. Thank you.   (5th Apr , 2009)

  • Money during the election is the most important issue. Money comes like water flowing through the Ganges or Brahmaputra. Nobody exactly wants to know where the money comes from.RamBilas Paswan is spending money like water in his constituency. Others are not lagging very far behind. In the Confidence Vote BJP members played a drama of '2 crore rupees as bribe'. Such dramas are not new. In the Loksabha constituencies lists are given how the vast amount of money has been spent from the MP quota. This vast flow of money , especially if it comes from outside during the election , can upset all calculations. The world surrenders to money. It can make day night, night day. It can make black white and white black.Money is all powerful like the magic wand .of Prospero in Shakespeare's The Tempest. But today money seems to have no power. You take one bagful of money and come back from market with a pocketful of things. Not a joke at all. Everyone knows that inflation rate has hit people below the belt. As long as black money will reign supreme in the market, this disbalance will continue. Nobody has yet been hanged from the nearest lamp post although Nehru promised such things years ago. The rates of share market have dropped. The gold rates on the other hand is record high. All these are due to wrong planning and the recession going on globally. India is not that affected. But it will surely be if the policies are not changed drastically in future.   (22nd Apr , 2009)

  • By waiving, en mass, farmers loans, we are creating a breed to live by cheating & convert honest people who pay dues, also confirmed defaulters. What is worse we are scaring off lenders driving the end farmer into a vicious circle. Yet, there are majority farmers who need 'protection' against vagaries of nature. Let us use the huse cash surplus of National Insurance Cos, who enjoyed exclusivity, till recently and piled a corpus off Dividends, for tax benefits, with least risk compensation payments arising. Let them offer along with a 90% Govt subsidy, initially to poor farmers, crop insurance cover. A forced 10% premium payment is a must, for the scheme to be respected, as anything free is not respected but wasted (eg free power, leads to people running terribly in-efficient pumps (who cares Govt gives free electricity - but some one is paying!), without keeping it well serviced to be reasonably efficient). No more farm loan waiver - but fi our Satellite mapping (we have the means already) declares a certain draught/flood zones, all farmers in that area who paid 10% premium & declared what they sowed, shall be fully compensated. Given the vastness of the country of bounty in one corner and displar in another, the Insurance Co, shall be able to support in due course without Govt subsidy for premium! For God sake no waiver of premium, yet full cover. This and other steps like unchecked 'reservation' (even Dr Ambedkar wanted it only for 10 years & certainly not for generations!!) has created somuch sloth and expectation of moon-lighting that Political parties have resorted to pampering this lot growing to be a vast majority of incompetent yet, 'powerful by protection' group compromising basic efficiency - Govt Services are a classic example!!   (6th Apr , 2009)

  • We should make effective "governance delivery" the focus of the new government. Government services should be provided to citizens in a transparent manner without having to grease palms of people. Things like getting a ration card, a driving license etc., The 6th pay commission has given a heavy pay hike to central government employees. They (specially the secretary and department head) should now be held accountable for the service delivery that are provided to citizens. They should be judged on proper metrics, which should be publicized. Every government office should display a list of services provided, appropriate norms (number of days a service will take) and failing which a grievance redressal mechanism which will work - and not unlike today where a typical government office in a major city is full of brokers / touts and nobody knows who is doing what.   (5th Apr , 2009)

  • Filmstars or superstars of cricket and football become political candidates. There is no harm in that. But politicians going for campaign and used as a crowd puller cannot help the democratic process in India. People are so much mesmerised, especially those are illiterate and less unaware of the social realities, that the filmstars by their momentary presence in this or that dias promising a handshake or flying kiss or waving of hands and showing a victory sign misguide them. People do not bother about the ideologies preached or principles by which these parties abide. A midsummer day madness to see a filmstar who today sits on the BJP dais and next day on the MCP or Congress dais with leaders of the absolutely opposite parties. People crowd all the meetings attended by the filmstars. This is a craze and nothing more. The people are being more and more attracted to the REEL life than to the REAL life issues. Very unfortunate for the Indian democracy which has become a rule of the fools.   (22nd Apr , 2009)

  • Today all the politicians seeking votes speak more of the villages than of the urban areas. The power-grabbers know it very well that India lives in her villages. They once in a blue moon go to villages or think over the plight of the village community. But in the election time they pose to be lovers of villages. They do not take care of the weal and woes of the urban people. Overmuch population, nastiness of the shanties, bad roads and crowded city life require a refurbishment. But nothing is done . Only before the elections some short term measures are taken which are at all not adequate for the comforts of the urban people. Nor do they suffice in ensuring a better life for the city dwellers. The life in an Indian metropolis is most unhygienic and uncomfortable.   (19th Apr , 2009)

  • We need to get free from the crippling addiction to fossil fuels. We should encourage pedestrians and bicyclists and improve public transport in a major way. Make availability of all services to designated areas within 7 to 10 kms in a cluster so that people can get around using non-polluting modes like cycling. Invest heavily in alternative energy sources - for example like the TATAs invested in getting out a peoples car, the Government of India can invest Rs.1000 crores through the private sector to come out with a solar / electric / hybrid car which works in an excellent fashion. If necessary, it can partner with other countries also in this.
