The Bengal flavour of Gurgaon
I still cannot forget the taste of the mouth watering ''Pineapple Sondesh'' I devoured at Sonar Bangla, a Bengali sweet shop cum restaurant in Palam Vihar Gurgaon. Just like the child is lured into toffees and chocolates, this shop pulls you with its sweets, very nicely placed in the showcase. From the famous rosogullas to lip-smacking phuchkaas, everything here is just made to entice people.

Punjabi's in Gurgaon will celebrate floral Holi to curtail water loss
Punjabi's in Gurgaon may not be celebrating the festival of Holi the way it is celebrated in Punjab, but still we can witness the culture and tradition of Punjabi Holi in it. Hola Mohalla is the joyful name that Holi gets in the state of Punjab. The festival is celebrated in an entirely different manner and its significance also shifts a little here.

Is Gurgaon really connected with Raahgiri?
Raahgiri, which is currently the talk of Gurgaon does not excite everyone. People residing near old Gurgaon bus stand and near Palam Vihar hardly participate in the street celebrations taking place on the other side of the Gurgaon.

Cruelty against animals in Gurgaon: Consciousness must become conscience
Every living thing is conscious. Consciousness is the state of being aware of an external object and of oneself. As human beings, we also have a conscience. Conscience is the faculty which helps us distinguish right from wrong. Conscience, sadly, is increasingly becoming a rare virtue. It has been overtaken by greed, callousness, blind-sightedness and arrogance of ego. Our social discourse is a reflection of this fact.

Ansal Plaza Mall in Gurgaon's Palam Vihar: A convenient shopping and entertainment destination
Two years back Ansal Plaza in Palam Vihar almost felt like a half hearted effort by the builders, who made a mall but did nothing much to promote it. Most of the shops were vacant and shoppers were a bare minimum. Residents of Palam Vihar still preferred to go all the way to MG Road and shop. However, this has changed completely almost overnight for the mall.

Fingerlicious Gabro Dosa, Mochar Paturi or Apple Lassi for Gurgaon residents
Residing in Gurgaon, one of my all time complain is (no, it is not roads) that there are not much places to eat, as one would want. And I am not talking about the extra expensive bars and buffets halls in MG road but value for money food in and around the less fancy areas like Palam Vihar.

Breathe a plush lifestyle at the Country Club in Gurgaon's Palam Vihar
Clean wide roads, multi speciality hospitals, towering flyovers, and beautiful parks among others are always counted as the basic needs of citizens. However, country clubs have been added to the "must need" list in the last two decades as the modernization approached and the living standard of people elevated to new heights.

When a brilliant IAS officer quit his job after being fed up with a semi-literate Haryana MLA
The officer is Tayal not Murari Lal Tayal, the blue eyed boy of then Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda. I don't remember his initials. About two decades back he was holding a very lucrative post in corporate and was happy with his job.
