Olympics: Gold and cash stir slumbering India

India used to be content with a steady stream of Olympic hockey titles, but a first individual win -- and millions of dollars in funding -- may have prodded the Asian giant from its slumbers. Indian sports leapt forward when bespectacled shooter Abhinav Bindra won the 10m air rifle at Beijing 2008, making history as the country's first individual Olympic gold-medallist.

Railways should provide the best cushioned seats in all compartments
Recently, while traveling, I got the opportunity to travel by different trains in various cities. I noticed the trains minutely, and found that the thickness of the sitting seat cushion in some of the trains, mainly in the second class and general class compartments, were of uneven thickness and thus comfort ability. I think the ministry ought to think of investing in buying cushions of even quality and specifications.

The Nagar Nigam has completely failed to deal with the menace of stray cattle. There is hardly any road in Allahabad where commuters don't have to face lots of problems, and the presence of stray cattle is making moving around or driving difficult in the city.
