The government has spent a whopping `76.54 crore on 'Solid Waste Management' under JNNURM (Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission). Yet, even after two years of the implementation of the scheme they have failed to manage proper disposal of the total municipal solid waste.The records with the Municipal Corporation of Faridabad (MCF) reveal that around 600 metric tonnes of solid waste is being regularly generated in the city. While MCF, despite all its manpower and resources, can collect only 300 metric tonnes of garbage and rest remains unattended.read whole story
