World moves on from 'friendship' to 'Internet friendship'
In my childhood, I had a friend whose father was a doctor and he had an Austin car. I belonged to a set-up where even an 'Eveready' or 'Geep' torch, a bicycle and an umbrella were considered as items of luxuries. He used to live in an old English style government villa near the town's general hospital. He had an orchard in the courtyard which had tangerine bushes, lemon trees, wood apple, tamarind, mangoes and guavas. There was the family of a gardener who took care of the orchard, flower- corners and golden- pots.

When my two-year-old son Raghav started to wear only jeans with pockets and requested to buy forks only for her sister, I realized he is able to differentiate between his and sister's dresses. I also noticed his fascination for cars, bikes, aeroplanes from his choice of toys. He is always interested in constructing block towers and then knocking them down with a big car or an aeroplane.
