24-storey building gutted in massive fire in west London; 6 killed and over 70 injured

The 24-storey Grenfell Tower in west London that had caught fire during the dead of night has been consumed by massive flames and is reported to be completely gutted despite 40 fire engines, 14 fire units and over 200 firefighters being pressed into service.
It has been reported that there have been 6 fatalities as confirmed by the Metropolitan police, with the number of those killed expected to rise. Six area hospitals reported that over 70 people injured in the fire were brought in for treatment. Out of the injured 20 are under critical care.
Due the unprecedented fire being called 'raging inferno' with dense smoke filled into flats and the fire brigade crew and rescuers wearing breathing apparatus were seen struggling in difficult conditions to rescue people.
It is being said that the fire that seemed to have started from the second floor gutted all the floors above it. The building had a total of 120 flats. The cause of the fire is still not known.
