Binoculars to be used to view objects that are not at a fixed distance must have a focusing arrangement which changes the distance between ocular and objective lenses. Binoculars are usually designed for the specific application for which they are intended. Binoculars give users a three-dimensional image: for nearer objects the two views, presented to each of the viewer's eyes from slightly different viewpoints.
