Visitors to the castle have reported on various occasions, a phantom piper, a headless drummer, the ghost of a dog wandering in the grounds' dog cemetery. Many individuals have heard music coming from within the walls of this castle. A team of nine researchers and over 200 members of the public explored Edinburgh Castle in 2001, where majority reported paranormal experiences. During a paranormal activity, a woman reported hearing breathing from a corner of the room, which was getting louder.
