The Church of the Epiphany in Gurgaon
While we see many temples in the city, there are very churches in Gurgaon. The Church of the Epiphany, located at Civil Lines, is one such church. The Church of the Epiphany is the oldest Church in the city, and was set up in 1862 as a garrison Church. With the influx of multinationals in Gurgaon, the floating population of Christians has risen to between 50,000-55,000. Thirty five pastors of varied denominations reside in the city. In fact, Gurgaon has an interesting history pertaining to Christianity. Apart from a some Singhs and Lals, the first Hindu families to convert to Christianity in the city were some Rais, Messis, and Mukherjees.
