Thirty minutes of rain in Gurgaon and potholes already
After pre-monsoon showers in Gurgaon last Friday ended the long spell of a ripping hot summer, the people of the city had to contend with overnight potholes the next morning. Previously perfectly laid roads were pockmarked with half-foot crevices, which no doubt, will expand to full-blooded tyre-traps in the ensuing monsoon. This turning of the roads into a cratered wasteland after a spell of rain has become such an annual ritual that we have become used to it. Have we ever carried out a rally against potholes? Have we ever held the traffic to ransom asking for the respected minister's neck? Hardly ever - perhaps it is time we do.
