Insult to national flag: Police refuse to file FIR against Sahara India Parivaar
On a petition moved by Lucknow-based social activist Urvashi Sharma under 156(3) CrPc, the court of Judicial Magistrate II has directed the Ashiyana police station to enquire on First Information Report (FIR) against Subrata Roy and Sahara India Parivaar and submit report by 22 May. The next date of hearing is 23 May.

Participation of youth indispensable for nation-building
25 per cent of the youth cannot be utilised for nation building or can't be an asset for the nation because they live below poverty line. They have hardly any access to education, healthcare, sanitation, safe drinking water or basic needs like housing, clothing as well as bread and butter.

West Bengal: Two Years of Maa, Maati, Maanush
Maverick leader Mamata Banerjee completed two years as the chief minister of West Bengal after ending thirty five years of communist rule. This is not a long enough time to see the results of the change. But, it is not so short a period to not to throw up signs of improvement. Sadly, both the results and signs are missing from the spectre of hope in West Bengal.

At least 91 die in giant Oklahoma tornado
Oklahoma City and its suburban areas were hit by a huge tornado yesterday with winds blowing at a speed of 200 mph in the afternoon, resulting in the death of 91 people, including 20 children. Debris was left all over the road, hundreds of homes were destroyed, and cars were flying high in the air.
