National Zoological Park or popularly called Delhi Zoo is a favourite spot for animal lovers. Established in 1952, the zoo houses animals like Tigers, Leopards, Bears, Foxes, Monkeys, Deer, Antelope and many species of birds. A home to endangered species, Delhi Zoo provides such animals an environment to breed in captivity. Except on Fridays, when the zoo remains closed, thousands of visitors can be spotted clicking pictures of their favourite animals and watching the lions roar in their cages. Spread over a massive area of 176 acres, the zoo is home to about 1350 animals, representing almost 130 species of animals and birds around the globe. Given the massive area, battery-operated vehicles have been made available that can be rented for sightseeing.
