Jeevit Ya Mrit, as the name suggested raised the basic question whether she was alive or dead. Seema Biswas played the solo act, staged on Monday evening to a packed audience in Max Mueller Bhawan – the waste of cremation ground was used for props. The theatre act that was staged between 14 and 16th May was presented by National school of Drama (NSD). Organised by National Gallery of Modern Art, the play concentrated on passage through light. Biswas, a renowned theatre personality played the role of an old widow 'Kadambini'. A mixture of moment and memory, the play tried to portray women's unconscious life. Biswas through her verstaile acting skills brought alive the miseries and maltreatment of Kadambini who was set on fire by her own family. The silent hall broke into a thundering applause when she woke up in the play – questioning whether she was dead or alive.
