The citizens of Palam Vihar, Gurgaon was in for a shock on Monday morning, while driving to work from Rezang la chowk leading to Dwarka Expressway, Sector 22 and Sector 5. Right in front of the Rezang la chowk on big ice cubes was laid the dead body of 35 year old Sunil Bhandari and surrounding him were Carterpuri residents demanding that their age old cremation grounds, which was closed on High courts orders should be reopened.

After a spell of shower in Gurgaon, the poor drainage system is for everyone to see waterlogging remains to be order of the day leading to road traffic as well. Few days ago, it is for the same reason that the residents of Palam Vihar had also come onto the streets to protest against the waterlogging, which might increase with monsoon expected to hit Gurgaon soon.

Two years back Ansal Plaza in Palam Vihar almost felt like a half hearted effort by the builders, who made a mall but did nothing much to promote it. Most of the shops were vacant and shoppers were a bare minimum. Residents of Palam Vihar still preferred to go all the way to MG Road and shop. However, this has changed completely almost overnight for the mall.

The new branch of McDonald's in Palam Vihar, Gurgaon in collaboration with the National Thalassemia Welfare Society, an NGO organised a blood donation camp on 30 November. The camp, which was organised to receive blood donation and spread awareness about Thalassemia was held from 1 pm till 5pm. The blood donation was organised in a special bus with all the required medical facilities.
